Experience
Zach McCort joined the firm as an associate in January 2026. At Wohlner Kaplon Cutler, Mr. McCort works on the labor litigation team, where he counsels public and private union clients. He helps draft collective bargaining agreements, advocates for union clients in arbitrations, and champions client’s causes before the NLRB and PERB.
Mr. McCort graduated from Pomona College in 2018 and from Washington University School of Law in 2025. At Washington University School of Law, he served as an Articles Editor on the Jurisprudence Review and as Co-President of the Labor and Employment Law Society. Mr. McCort also worked at the ACLU of Missouri, where he dealt with issues at the cross-section of labor and other areas of law, in addition to gaining litigation experience as an intern at the Missouri State Public Defender’s office. He organized trips and coordinated events with the Peggy Browning Workers’ Fellowship, and he led a team to the Wagner Labor and Employment Moot Court competition. Mr. McCort is particularly proud of his work externing at the Southern District of Illinois, where he handled appeals from denials of supplemental social security and Title VI litigation arising from Missouri public schools. Before law school, Mr. McCort worked at a law firm representing employees who experienced workplace discrimination or harassment.
Mr. McCort’s reverence for the labor movement began with his grandfather, a UFCW member who emphasized the critical role unions play in fighting for working-class people, and who taught him that there is power in a union.
In his spare time, Mr. McCort is either reading, outdoors, or at the movies. You might also catch him sampling some of LA’s incredible restaurants and food trucks.
